A family business established on the Coast for two decades – and with inspirational furnishing showrooms and design studios in both Marbella and Málaga city – La Albaida are past masters at creating dream homes for property owners the length and breadth of the Costa del Sol.

We speak English, Spanish and French. We can also provide a translation and interpretation service for clients speaking other languages.

At La Albaida, a team of more than 20 experts – including interior designers, installers, craftsmen and administration staff – are dedicated to fulfilling to perfection every aspect of our clients’ needs. Working from our shops in both Marbella and Málaga, we cover the Coast, and whether your décor preference is contemporary, traditional, Mediterranean or fusion, and irrespective of the size of your budget, with our infinite range of styles and prices, you’ll find everything you could possibly need – and more – to create a uniquely personal space to call your own.

“I love what I do,” says Mar Barroso, interior designer and joint owner, “and I know every member of the La Albaida team feels exactly the same way. The Costa del Sol is unique, it’s a very special place, and so of course are our clients. I was born here, and so were most of my colleagues, so we know it like the back of our hand and can closely identify with our clients and how they picture their dream home in their mind’s eye. Because of this natural empathy, we get to know our clients very well and count many of them among our friends. So it’s only natural that we help them whenever we can, sharing our local knowledge and favourite restaurants with them… It’s all part of the joy of living on this fabulous Coast, where we’re all so fortunate to be.”

Company Background

A family-owned business, La Albaida opened its flagship shop in Málaga city in 1991. Strategically located in the iconic La Malagueta district, such has been its success that five years later the Marbella branch – situated on the resort’s main thoroughfare, opposite the well-known Pirulí (Copper Cone) – was launched.

With its highly-respected design services much in demand, it comes as no surprise that La Albaida’s beguiling projects frequently grace the pages of Spain’s leading home décor magazines, including El Mueble, Casa al Día and Interiores.

Our philosophy

“Client satisfaction is our prime objective,” says Mar. “And we treat each and every project as if it were for ourselves, taking the utmost care to listen to our clients’ needs and preferences and to understand their lifestyle requirements and personal tastes.

“Between our two shops, we have over 2,000m2 of display areas, and we represent a broad range of national and international design houses. Clients can buy direct from our shops, or make their selections from the huge number of catalogues and fabric and wallpaper samples that we always have available. There’s no limit to what they can choose!"

"We always make a point of visiting the major furniture and design shows in Paris and Milan, for example, so we're always abreast of the latest trends, too."
