 Spanish economy continues to grow
Spain’s economy grew by an impressive 3.5% in the first quarter of 2006, compared to a rate of 2% for other euro nations. This it the third quarter in a row to show 3.5% growth, as Spain far outperforms the other 12 nations sharing the euro.
In the past year, around 575,000 new jobs were created in Spain, with employment growing at a rate of 3.2%. Import and export both showed significant intensification too.
The best news of all for property investors is that investment in building increased by 5.8% in the first quarter. Much of this has been attributed to property hotspots like Murcia, which is becoming increasingly popular with foreign buyers.
