Learning the language
At VIVA, all our staff are fluent English, the vast majority speak Spanish and many others speak German, Scandinavian or French, so you don't have to worry about mastering Spanish straight away. But what about after the keys are yours?
English is widely spoken in southern Spain, so you should find it easy to get by. But it is worth trying to learn a bit if you can, particularly if you're going to be working here or setting up a business. Luckily, Spanish is a relatively easy language to pick up.
If you want to learn at home before you get here, you'll find most local colleges or adult education centres run evening classes. Alternatively, you can sign up with a local language school over here. Private lessons aren't that expensive in Spain either - ask around or look in the classified ads in the local paper or contact www.habla-espanol.net.
