Their story...
In September 2004, Mark Bevan and his wife Clare left their home in Surrey for a new life in southern Spain. They plan to work and start a family in the area.
"We visited The Best of Southern Spain at the Birmingham NEC, and within a month we'd found our new home in Torreblanca," explains Mark.
"We arranged a trip out to the Costa del Sol where Carmen, one of VIVA’s representatives, took us out to see about six places. She understood our needs brilliantly and the final apartment we visited suited us down to the ground."
The Bevans’ new home is a small coastal town beside Fuengirola, around 20 minutes’ drive from Malaga airport. It's known as one of the friendliest family resorts in the Costa, with beautiful clean beaches and plenty of amenities. It also allows easy access to all of the region’s major towns and cities – giving the couple plenty of options for potential work.
And as Mark discovered, the process of buying property in Spain can be surprisingly straightforward, particularly with the help of an English-speaking company like VIVA Estates.
“It’s been pretty uncomplicated,” says Mark. “We’ve both been learning Spanish for about a year, but we’ve still got a long way to go. Having VIVA's support has been crucial. We’re very happy.”
