In 2001 we decided to buy a place in the sun. After much research we concluded the place for us would be the Costa del Sol. We attended a Spanish property exhibition in Birmingham and were fortunate enough to find VIVA Estates. From that moment, through to our final purchase we received a level of service and courtesy second to none. Thanks to VIVA's superb customer service and professionalism, we bought two properties in Spain and subsequently discovered that there was a great need for English greeting cards in Spain – our company was born - www.idealgreetingcards.com.
Following the visit to the exhibition we were greeted at the airport and taken to our hotel by the VIVA sales advisor, everything had been booked on our behalf by VIVA. He was wonderful, so friendly he put us at ease immediately. We were collected the next day and taken to his air-conditioned office where he discovered the sort of property we were looking for. There was absolutely no pressure; all he was concerned about was that we found exactly what was right for us. At that point we thought we wanted a finca, in the country, with an orchard. The advisor took us through all of the fincas in our price range and preferred location. We chose the ones that we liked and appointments were made for viewings. Once again, no pressure and although we had only had contact for a short period we totally trusted the company.
However, at the end of the first day we realised that a finca was totally wrong for us, as it would have required far too much attention and we were not ready to move to Spain just yet. My husband and I were both worried about telling the sales advisor that we were “barking up the wrong tree” so to speak! We need not have worried, he was fantastic, he was delighted that we were open and honest with him and we went back to the drawing board. VIVA are so customer focused, my advice to anyone is to be honest with your sales advisor and not worry if you find yourself on the wrong track, tell them and they will discuss the problems and find a way forward.
Within one week, we purchased two of the loveliest apartments on Alhaurin Golf in the heart of the mountains. We were recommended an English speaking lawyer and VIVA Homecare helped us with the furnishings. We could not believe the quality of the service. Everything was plain sailing; this was down to the commitment from VIVA to ensure that we were progressing without any problems. If we did have any concerns they were only a phone call away.
